Made for tables
of friends.
FriendsBill is small on purpose. It does one thing — split restaurant bills fairly and visibly — and we plan to keep it that way.
The principles.
Every product decision we make comes back to these three things. When something we want to add conflicts with one of them, the thing doesn't get added.
Transparent by default
If FriendsBill calculated your $38.18 and you can't see exactly how, we've failed. Every total exposes its components — items, tax share, tip share — to every diner.
No friction for guests
Guests should be able to open the link, identify themselves, and pay what they owe in under thirty seconds. No app install, no account, no "verify your email".
Small surface, sharp edges
We will not become Splitwise. We will not add an "Activity Feed". We will not gamify dinners with friends. The product is one good tool, well-built.
