· Terms

The rules, in plain language.

Short version: be decent, check your own math before paying, and don't sue us over a sandwich.

Effective date: July 11, 2026

1. Agreement

These terms are a contract between you and 7Rush Software Solutions LLC (“we”, “us”). They cover the FriendsBill web app, the FriendsBill mobile apps for iOS and Android, and this website (together, the “Service”). By creating an account, opening a shared bill link, or using the apps, you accept these terms. If you don't agree with them, don't use the Service.

2. What FriendsBill is (and isn't)

FriendsBill helps a group split a restaurant bill: the host enters or scans a receipt, friends claim their items, and everyone sees the math. It's an arithmetic and coordination tool.

It is not a payment service, a money transmitter, a bank, or financial advice. No money moves through FriendsBill. If you pay a friend through Venmo or any other app, that transaction is between you, your friend, and that provider, under their terms.

3. Your account

  • You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your country) to create an account.
  • Give us accurate information and keep your sign-in method (password or passkey) to yourself. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
  • Guests don't need accounts. If you share a bill link, anyone with the link can view that bill and claim items on it — share it with the people at your table, not the internet.

4. Your content

Bills, item names, slot labels, and receipt photos are yours. You give us permission to store and process them for the sole purpose of running the Service (see our Privacy Policy). Don't upload content that's illegal, that infringes someone else's rights, or that isn't a bill. We can remove content that breaks these rules.

5. Receipt scanning

Receipt scanning uses automated text recognition. It's good, but it misreads things — always verify items and totals against the paper receipt before anyone pays. You are responsible for the final numbers on your bill.

6. Acceptable use

Don't:

  • break the law, or use the Service to defraud the people you're splitting with;
  • probe, overload, or disrupt the Service, or try to access other people's data;
  • scrape the Service or enumerate share links;
  • resell the Service or misrepresent your affiliation with us.

7. The Service can change

FriendsBill is currently free. We may add, change, or remove features, introduce paid tiers, or discontinue the Service. If we ever discontinue it, we'll give reasonable notice so you can export what you need.

8. Termination

You can delete your account at any time (Profile screen, or email us). We can suspend or close accounts that violate these terms or put the Service or its users at risk. Sections 9–12 survive termination.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted availability. Bill math depends on what was entered; we don't guarantee that any split, total, or scanned receipt is error-free.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we're not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is capped at the greater of US$50 or the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limits, so parts of this may not apply to you.

11. Indemnity

If someone brings a claim against us because of your content or your misuse of the Service, you'll cover the reasonable costs and damages that result.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict of law rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and both sides consent to that venue.

13. App store notes

If you got the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, their standard terms also apply to the download itself. Apple and Google aren't parties to these terms and aren't responsible for the Service or its support.

14. Changes to these terms

If we make a material change, we'll update the effective date above and give notice in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new terms.
